FPV Drone Battery Cells for Custom UAV Packs

Choosing an FPV or UAV power source starts with the aircraft’s voltage, current draw, available space and weight budget. Raysun lists four large-format lithium battery cells for custom FPV and drone battery-pack projects. These are cells for engineered packs, not ready-to-fly batteries with a specified connector or pack voltage.

How to choose a cell for an FPV or UAV pack

  1. Define the electrical requirements. Confirm the target pack voltage, continuous current and peak current for the aircraft and its payload. The C-rates above describe individual cells; a finished pack must be designed and validated as a system.
  2. Check the mechanical fit. Compare cell dimensions and weight with the space and payload allowance available in the aircraft. A higher-capacity cell is not automatically the best fit for every drone.
  3. Confirm the charging strategy. The four models do not all have the same nominal or full-charge voltage. Select charging, protection and pack architecture for the exact cell model rather than assuming they are interchangeable.
  4. Request current project information. Share the intended application, quantity, target voltage, current, dimensions and connector requirements when asking Raysun for a quote.
